BroadStream - NAB 2016 Show Recap

Even the BroadStream Puppies Loved NAB this Year

In Case You Missed Anything from BroadStream at NAB

The BroadStream Team had a great NAB this year. We kicked the show off with our annual Partner Breakfast on Day 1. It was well attended and we thank all of our partners who were able to make it with so many activities available to them. President & CEO Herbert Brenninkmeijer, provided an overview of recent changes in the Company's structure, business strategy and reinforced our committment to our Partners' success.

Peter Wharton, VP Technology and New Business Development provided a market overview and details on product and solution updates on OASYS Integrated Playout and ARMADA Time Delay as well as details on BEACON, our new Simplified Playout solution for small stations, digitnets and providers with limited requirements. He also instroduced Tony Taylor, CEO of TransMedia Dynamics (TMD), one of several new Technology Partners we introduced this year. Tony provided some insight into the Media Asset Management space and discussed the integration our two teams have created to improve media management for our customers in the US and Europe initially.

In the run up to NAB we’ve won major projects with broadcasters such as  WRAL, LATV and News-Press & Gazette TV stations. We’re also installing BroadStream’s OASYS into several PBS stations including KLRU, KMOS, KCOS and Idaho PBS. These customers have turned to BroadStream because they need to be able to adapt to constantly changing and often unforeseen requirements. Our software-based playout coupled with our responsive development team assures them that they’ll be prepared with whatever comes next, including:

  • UHDTV/4K channels
  • Centralization and multichannel operations
  • Metadata-driven workflows
  • New diginets, pop-up and OTT channels
  • Unified channel playout and OTT VOD authoring
  • Next-generation IP, from SMPTE 2022-6 to SMPTE 2345 (AIMS/VSF TR-03 & TR-04)
  • ATSC 3.0
